Cartier has also applied a brushed finish to the surface of the plate, which is decorated with a sunburst effect, and the red part shows a fine graininess. In fact, the Tank L.C., which looks very similar to the Tank watch, continues to have a rectangular shape, with minute tracks on the dial, Roman numerals, and cabochon sapphires on the side of the watch—classic Cartier watchmaking style. However, the difference in this new model is that it maintains this design tradition with subtle updates and carefully carves every detail, such as Roman numerals and gold minute tracks, to create a more three-dimensional and distinct dial shape.
The watch features a hidden back, with a brushed finish on the 18-carat gold caseback and engraved with the brand’s name and various watch numbers and marks. At the heart of the watch is a hand-wound mechanical movement crafted by the Cartier 1917 MC calibre, also a nod to the year the Cartier Tank was first made, with a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour, a 38-hour power reserve when fully wound, and a special protective layer built into the case to ensure ideal protection.
It comes with a red alligator leather strap with an 18K gold pin buckle and a quick-release snap closure at the lug link for different wearing needs.
