This year, Rolex expands the range with the launch of a new Explorer. Launched in 1953, this collection is known for its clean design, with an easy-to-read black dial, oversized hour markers, and distinctive numerals 3, 6, and 9. Today, we take a closer look at this new watch from Rolex.

For the first time, the new Explorer Gold features a 36 mm diameter Oyster Perpetual case, which for the first time combines Oystersteel and 18ct yellow gold, with the bezel, crown, and middle links of the bracelet in 18ct yellow gold, and the case and links on both sides of the bracelet in Oystersteel, with a black dial.

The watch features a distinctive black dial with 3, 6, and 9 numerals, as well as the signature luminescent Chromalight. The Explorer‘s Chromalight hour markers and hands are coated with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow in the dark.

The new Explorer is powered by calibre 3230, an entirely Rolex calibre developed, manufactured, and launched in 2020. The self-winding movement, which has been awarded a number of patents, is the embodiment of Rolex‘s innovative know-how and watchmaking excellence, and has been further enhanced in terms of precision, reliability, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetic fields, and ease of use. In addition, the watch has a power reserve of 70 hours.
