The 21st edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie de Genève is about to open, and Cartier, known for its jewellery watches, has been the first to reveal its two new watches to the media.
After five years of creation and development, Cartier has officially launched the Celestial Tourbillon. The watch has a distinctive look, with the tourbillon cage positioned “above” the movement, between the two dials, rather than being placed within the movement as in a traditional tourbillon.
Visually, the flat frame moves around the center of the dial once a week every minute. The balanced bridge, shaped like an arrow, is off-center, showing the seconds. Technically, to ensure the frame remains perfectly balanced, a platinum balance bar is placed at the other end of the frame and hidden beneath the center dial.
