Two months before the opening of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva in 2018, Cartier was the first to reveal the new Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Double Mystic Tourbillon Limited Edition in platinum. The floating tourbillon, which turns every 60 seconds, looks like it’s floating in mid-air, seemingly disconnected from the rest of the movement—a stunning optical illusion created by Cartier. The sapphire crystal disc turns every 5 minutes, making it even harder to achieve a smooth balance given the carefully designed case and detailed craftsmanship.
The case is made of platinum with a diameter of 45 mm, and all parts have been hand-finished, including the chamfering of the movement bridges and the polishing of the screw heads. The movement bridges are skeletonized to act as Roman numerals, enhancing the lightness and strength of the watch. There is a magical quality in the openwork transparency. The shape of the skeleton bridges balances the curves of the mysterious movement and the overall look of the watch.
Powered by the hand-wound calibre made by Cartier 9465 MC, assembled from 286 parts, with 26 jewels and a power reserve of up to 52 hours when fully wound. It comes with a dark blue alligator leather strap and an 18-carat platinum folding clasp. Cartier‘s new Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Double Mystic Tourbillon in platinum is limited to 30 pieces and is also available with a bezel set with baguette-cut diamonds.

Looks high quality, well constructed and finished. The clock runs great. Excellent strap that matches the quality of the watch and opens/closes comfortably with an easy to operate double lock. You will be proud of this watch.
