Seven years ago, the Ballon Bleu de Cartier collection was introduced. This star that fell from the sky lit up the sparkling sky of the Ballon de Cartier collection. Now, the new Ballon Blanc de Cartier is once again making a statement in Cartier watchmaking. Just like seven years ago, Cartier has chosen to present the best of women’s jewelry watches in the form of comics.
Since the focus is on women’s watches, why not invite female artists to show their talents? The comic book industry is also seeing a rise in women, making this timing perfect. Cartier has carefully chosen four popular female cartoonists with different styles to complement this irresistible new model. Young Japanese manga artist Hiroshi Takahama shows a woman who sets out on an adventure in life; Parisian cartoonist Nadja explores timeless beauty; British-inspired Posy Simmonds captures the elegance of women’s gestures with a sharp eye; Rebecca Dautremer, on the other hand, travels through generations with fairytale brushstrokes and conveys eternal emotions. Along with the four female artists, the male illustrator Floc’h was also invited to contribute to “Servant of the Heart” in a refined style. Tokyo in summer, Paris in autumn, London in winter, and mystical illusions, the Ballon de Cartier collection is a captivating series of four dreamlike stories.
A gem of the art of watchmaking, the Ballon Blanc de Cartier is the embodiment of Cartier’s watchmaking expertise, capturing the essence of wonder with a precise and magical heart.
