Pasha has been strong since its debut in 1985. This was true even before it was officially introduced. As we all know, the most delicate part of a watch is the movement, which is made up of hundreds of precise components; water, in particular, should not come into contact with it. Although the case is well protected, the crown and the case back inevitably become spots where moisture can seep in. For this reason, when Cartier created the Pasha prototype in 1943, it used a unique protective device that sealed off the inside and outside with a rotating lid connected to the outer crown by a chain. Today’s new generation of Pasha de Cartier, however, is even more impressive. In addition to the classic chain-shaped crown, the sapphire crystal caseback, which is tightly secured with eight screws, can withstand pressures of up to 10 bar (equivalent to a water resistance of 100 meters). Beneath the caseback, it features the Cartier-manufactured 1847 MC automatic movement, an escapement made of nickel-phosphorus alloy, and an anti-magnetic soft iron ring, allowing it to function even in magnetic fields.
