“Apollo 13” was the seventh manned space mission and the third lunar landing mission in the “Apollo Program”, but it was aborted because one of the two oxygen storage tanks on the service module exploded mid-flight.  Omega launched the Speedmaster Series Apollo 13 Snoopy Award Limited Edition watch to pay tribute to this event 45 years ago.

On the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock on the watch dial, there is a Snoopy painted with Super-LumiNova luminous material sleeping soundly. This limited edition watch features a 42mm stainless steel case with a coated black nylon strap decorated with white stitching and a folding clasp. This watch is limited to 1970 pieces and is equipped with the Omega 1861 manual winding movement.  The watch is delivered in a special gift box and comes with a quality assurance certificate, a 925 silver Snoopy brooch, and a newspaper.

Among the many interesting and charming designs of the new Speedmaster watch, the most eye-catching one is its unique case back design: a medal made of 925 silver is covered under the wear-resistant sapphire crystal. Originated from a brooch awarded to Omega together with the “Snoopy Award” in 1970.

The silver Snoopy medal is set on a silver base and is surrounded by dark blue enamel. The enamel on the back of each watch is hand-sprinkled with silver powder, showing the wonderful scene of Snoopy swimming in space.
