It started with the Speedmaster I saw my grandfather wearing.  And of course, there are watches. The Speedmaster watch owned by my grandfather was purchased in his later years when I was living with him.

I often think that my grandfather bought this watch just for me. In addition to this Omega, my grandfather also had two other famous watches, which were left to my father and uncle respectively. Although he never said it to me personally, I understood his intentions. It was this Speedmaster watch left to me by my grandfather that started my love for watches and gave me the life I have now.

I think Omega is very good at taking inspiration from the classics. If I were asked to design a Speedmaster today (and indeed I have been advised to do so), I would very much like to create a very limited series of watches, using the original Speedmaster case design, luminous dial and hands, and equipped with The Lemania 321 movement is exactly the same as the original Speedmaster watch.

Of course this will be a limited edition. I hope the case will be made of platinum and the circulation will not exceed 50 pieces. Perhaps there will be another version of the same model made of stainless steel, limited to a few hundred pieces. But I think if Omega really launches a highly collectible limited edition watch equipped with the 321 movement, the enthusiasm in the market will be quite high.

This question is difficult to answer because there are so many factors that make a watch a legend. It may be because of the wearer of a certain watch, or it may be because of the beautiful design and craftsmanship. These reasons all exist. As for the Speedmaster, its legend transcends the above simple reasons and is difficult to match by any other watch today. People around me may be as obsessed with the Speedmaster as I am, but for completely different reasons. To me, the more multifaceted a product’s advantages are, the more attractive it is.
