The chamfered hour markers, vintage Omega logo, and hands are all made of Moonshine™ 18K gold, while the central chronograph seconds hand is covered with Moonshine™ 18K gold PVD coating. At 3:15:16 UTC, Buzz Aldrin, wearing an Omega Speedmaster, landed on the lunar surface from the Eagle lunar module. The Speedmaster became the first watch on the moon.
