The Seamaster series was born in 1948. Omega launched it grandly to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the factory. From the beginning, it was positioned as a high-precision waterproof watch. That year, Omega simultaneously released the Ref. CK 2518 small three-hand Chronometer version and the Ref. CK 2577 small three-hand version.
Both of these earliest seahorses use steel cases, screw-in bottom covers, are waterproof to 60 meters, and are equipped with Omega‘s first-generation hammer automatic movement Cal. 28.10, which had been in production for five years. The following year, Omega adopted new movement numbers. The movement numbers of Ref. CK 2518 and Ref. CK 2577 were divided into Cal. 343 and Cal. 350, which respectively belonged to the small three-hand Cal. 340 series and the big three-hand Cal. 350 series.
The two Seamaster ancestors have a graceful and elegant appearance, with handsome and straight cases, lugs, and crowns. They had excellent waterproof indicators at the time, but they did not yet reach the level of later diving watches. Judging by its appearance, the original Seamaster was a formal watch, similar in style to the Constellation series that came out four years later—both of which can be said to be the continuation and upgrade of the previous Omega Chronometer.
The famous seahorse pattern logo did not appear on the back of the Seamaster for the first time until 1958. It was inspired by the Hippocampus in the two-horse chariot driven by Neptune, the god of the sea in Roman mythology. In reality, it is often seen on the side of the Gondola in Venice. Traditional ornaments, handsome and regal, half horse and half fish, wearing a rein, just like this, he was captured by Omega.
The first Omega watch with the Seamaster emblem engraved on the bottom cover was the Seamaster Ref. CK 2975, steel case, equipped with Cal. 501 movement. Since then, the Seamaster emblem has been the waterproof symbol of Omega. It is not only used in the Seamaster series but also in various diving watches.

I just received the watch. I opened it very excitedly and took a closer look. I really like it. Whether it is the material or the appearance, it is the type I like. The main price is very cheap. I will buy it again next time.
