It features Rolex‘s patented Chronergy escapement, a new component made from nickel phosphorus that is not only efficient and reliable but also unaffected by magnetic fields. The balance spring assembly, the core of the watch, includes a blue Parachrom hairspring. This hairspring is made from a unique alloy developed by Rolex, which is not only resistant to magnetic fields but also handles shocks up to ten times better than a regular hairspring. The 3235 calibre comes with a Perpetual self-winding module, powered by a Perpetual rotor. Thanks to the new design of the barrel and the high efficiency of the escapement, the power reserve of calibre 3235 has been extended to about 70 hours.
