Hong Kong, China, 5 April 2023 – The 2023 Rolex China Sea Race, organized by the Hong Kong Yacht Club and sponsored by Rolex, set sail at 11:20 a.m. on 5 April in Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour, a 565-nautical-mile race across the South China Sea to Subic Bay in the Philippines.
Celebrating its 61st anniversary this year, the Rolex China Sea Race is one of Asia’s most famous offshore races. The first event took place in 1962 and has been held every two years since then, with Rolex as a main sponsor since 2008. The event is also recognized by the Royal Ocean Race. Rolex collaborates with top yacht clubs, institutions, and regattas around the world, sharing the same values of excellence.
Before the race started, the Deputy Financial Secretary of Hong Kong, China, Mr. Michael Wong, attended the ceremony with the President of the Hong Kong Yacht Club, Mr. Suo Lo-s, and the Chairman of the 2023 Rolex China Sea Race, Cameron Ferguson, to wish all participants smooth sailing and good luck.
