Georges Kern, who has been Breitling‘s CEO since the summer of 2017, said Breitling looks a lot like Norton motorcycles. “Both companies share an innovative and pioneering spirit and a strong heritage. At the same time, we are working together to envision what we call Breitling‘s ‘legendary future.'”
In 2008, Stuart Garner bought Norton Motorcycles and gave the brand a fresh start. He couldn’t agree with Georges Kern, saying, “I’ve always believed that the key to a successful business is to make the brand truly a brand. This is at the heart of Norton Motorcycles and Breitling‘s growth. We have never tried to change the nature of the brand or deny its history. In fact, it is from the past that we are reborn and inspired, while at the same time looking to the future.”
Georges Kern is confident that loyal fans of Breitling and Norton motorcycles will be interested in each other’s brands. “Both companies are known for their ‘cool style’ products,” he said. It’s not hard to imagine that when a Norton motorcycle rider wears a classic Breitling watch, it’s a combination of brands with ambition and attitude.
Drawing on the core elements of both brands, the new Breitling offers watch and motorcycle enthusiasts a once-in-a-lifetime chance to combine Swiss watchmaking skills with the performance of a “Made in United Kingdom” motorcycle.
