To further improve the customer experience, Breitling, a Swiss luxury watchmaker, has announced the upcoming launch of an extended warranty of up to 8 years, based on its watchmaking skills.
As the creator of the modern chronograph, Breitling has always aimed for excellence and precision. In 1884, the founder of the brand, Lyon Léon Breitling, opened its first workshop in Switzerland, dedicated to the study of chronometers that drive scientific breakthroughs, sports records, and industrial progress. Within a few years, Breitling‘s chronograph instruments became well-known, and the brand grew in size.
From 1915 to 1923, Gaston Breitling further improved the chronograph feature, designing the first chronograph with a separate button at 2 o’clock, which later separated the “start” and “stop” functions from the “reset” function, allowing for continuous timekeeping in turns. In 1934, a second chronograph button independent of the 4 o’clock position was patented, thanks to the third generation of Willy Breitling. The classic layout of modern chronographs was established by Breitling.
Born for flight, the Navitimer became the official watch of the world’s largest pilots’ association, AOPA, in 1954, and was trusted by countless aviation professionals and even NASA astronauts, becoming the first Swiss watch to land in space.
