Each year, the Cartier Privé collection introduces a limited edition of a classic watch that honors timeless design. These highly sought-after and unique timepieces blend the essence of Cartier-shaped watches with a modern look. Following the Crash, Tank Cintrée, Tonneau, Tank Asymétrique, Cloche, and Tank Chinoise, the Cartier Privé collection presents its seventh creation: the Tank Normale. Designed by Louis Cartier in 1917 and released in 1919, the Tank watch has become a landmark in Cartier and watchmaking history due to its precise design and clean lines.
This year, Cartier has kept the overall proportions of the original and the beveled synthetic sapphire crystal for the hour and minute display models. The yellow gold model is paired with a brown alligator leather strap, while the platinum model comes with a black alligator leather strap.
For the first time, the Cartier Privé collection is offered in yellow gold and platinum, with satin-finished and polished surfaces that reflect the style of the 1970s. The case and bracelet seamlessly blend with a delicate satin finish. The lugs and case edges are polished to match the smooth flow of the case.
