Team Cartier, in the Cartier Polo International Challenge held under the guidance of Her Royal Highness HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Ruler of Dubai, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, narrowly defeated Desert Palm 10-9 to win the trophy for the first time.
As HRH Princess Haya, the supporter of the event, was unable to attend the polo match on the last day, the award was presented by Her Royal Highness HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Princess Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco, Cartier’s Bernard Fornas, President of Cartier, and Cartier’s Louis Ferla, General Manager of Dubai.
Adriano Agosti stepped forward to receive the trophy and share the praise with his teammates, while Mohammed Bin Drai was named the Most Valuable Player, receiving a pair of polo boots and a pair of knee pads provided by La Martina. Team Cartier’s Juan Jose Brane was named Best Playing Pony, with La Martina saddles presented by Charlotte Casiraghi, and Brane rode Saeed Bin Drai’s pony Sybarita in the final round. Finally, HH Sheikh Mansour and Ali Albwardy donated a cheque to Satish Seemar, President of the Dubai Para Equestrian Association, based in Desert Palm.
