In 1904, the creation of the world’s first wristwatch, the Cartier Santos, marked a new era of modernity for the global watch industry. Named after this landmark era, the 1904 MC calibre carries on the spirit of innovation from over 100 years ago and captures the long tradition of over a century of research and development in the world of watches.
The new 11 1/2 lignes calibre features a double barrel, a sophisticated adjustment system, and a stop-seconds mechanism to allow fine adjustments to the movement and ensure precise timekeeping in all conditions. A ceramic ball bearing system is installed in the center of the movement runner to guarantee stable operation in case of a strong external impact. The new pawl system replaces the traditional reversing wheel for automatic winding, greatly increasing the winding speed, while the innovative bidirectional winding system lets the rotor wind the movement more freely and provides energy. Both the upper bridge and the oscillating weight of the movement are decorated with the classic and smooth côtes de Genève.
Additionally, the CALIBRE DE Cartier watch subtly reflects both inside and out. The 120 precision markers on the dial remind one of the intricate movement gears, while the innovative and unique design of the movement on the transparent caseback perfectly highlights the masculine look.

The watch I bought was to be sent to Billings. My mother signed for it and said it was good. However, I am on a business trip and have not returned home yet. I will take a closer look when I get back.
