Precautions when wearing Cartier watches:
- After the watch gets scratched and shows many lines, drop one or two drops of water on the watch face and then squeeze a little toothpaste to wipe it. This can remove the scratches and make the surface look like new.
- You should have several different watches for alternate use. This not only adds variety to your style but also prevents dust and body dirt from accumulating on the same watch, avoiding frequent wear and tear on the strap. This will help keep Cartier watches looking newer for longer.
- If you wear a Cartier watch with luminous hands and dial, coated with a glowing material, which contains radium and zinc sulfide, the rays from radium make the zinc sulfide shine. So, before going to bed, it’s best to take off the luminous watch and put it on the table.
- When you get a beloved watch, keep the packaging box used to protect Cartier watches. It’s essential to store the box properly and make it a habit to put the watch in the box when you’re not wearing it daily. This helps reduce the chance of damaging the watch.
- If a Cartier mechanical watch gets damp, use dry cotton to press on the watch and then warm it with a 40-watt light bulb for 5 minutes to evaporate the moisture. If the quartz electronic Cartier watch is damp, wrap a few small pieces of calcium chloride in gauze, open the lid of the electronic meter, and place the wrapped calcium chloride and the electronic meter into an airtight plastic bag or glass bottle. Seal it, and generally, it takes about 3 hours to remove the moisture and return the electronic watch to normal. For severe moisture, you can extend the moisture removal time.
