Cartier skeleton watches were introduced in the 1930s and have a rich history. In 2001, Cartier released the Santos 100 skeleton watch, which featured a distinctive openwork design with Roman numerals. Today, this feature is available in the new Santos de Cartier collection. At the highly anticipated Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2018 in Geneva, the brand presented the new Santos de Cartier skeleton watch, showcasing the brand’s patented quick-change system that makes swapping watch straps easy. Below, let’s take a look at the real thing:
The Santos de Cartier watch is a classic example of Cartier‘s iconic style. Constantly updating and keeping up with modern trends since its creation in 1904, the new models also come with adjustable and interchangeable straps/bracelets.
QuickSwitch, hidden under the strap, is Cartier‘s pending patent quick-change system that works with the case as a hidden mechanism, allowing the wearer to switch straps and bracelets made of stainless steel, 18K gold, calfskin, or alligator leather. The wearer can simply press on the underside of the strap/bracelet to activate the replacement system.
