Description
Directed by Dublin-based UK theatre artist Selina Cartmell, the celebration highlights the success of the Rolex Referral Scheme for the Arts. Artists including Rolex mentor Robert Wilson, Crystal Pite, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Sir David Chipperfield, Mira Nair, and Dianne Reeves will offer tributes and cameos.
Canadian mezzo-soprano Susan Platts and American violinist David Carpenter will perform with Josep Caballé Domenech, a member of the El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra and Spanish conductor Josep Caballé Domenech. After the ceremony, the protégé and guests will watch the open-air premiere of ARTEMIS: Fountain, a Rolex Festival commission, before the Lighthouse Gala Dinner.
Peruvian composer Pauchi Sasaki will join 30 singers from the CHÓRES Choir to perform this musical masterpiece at the Dancing Fountains at the Canal at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre. Several light fountains will also dance to the melody.
