Daytona 16520 fake

Rolex Daytona 116520 is the successor model to the 16520. The most significant change in the Daytona 116520 is that this watch is the first Rolex watch to use a “self-produced automatic chronograph movement.” Daytona 116520 was produced from 2000 to 2015.

You read that right: Rolex didn’t launch its first self-produced automatic chronograph movement, Caliber 4130, until 2000. As mentioned before, prior to the 4130 movement, Rolex Daytona movements were all outsourced. The 4130 automatic chronograph movement uses a cylindrical wheel, a vertical clutch combination, offers 72 hours of power reserve, and has outstanding overall quality. It is one of the benchmarks of contemporary automatic chronograph movements. The 4130 automatic chronograph movement has been used to this day since its launch in 2000.

In terms of appearance, the Daytona 116520 has the same overall look as the previous generation 16520. It still measures 40 mm, features a stainless steel bezel, and has finely tuned details. However, due to the replacement of the 4130 movement, the layout of the watch dial has changed, and the position of the small second hand is at 6 o’clock on the dial. This is the identifying feature of Caliber 4130 Daytona.
