Nowadays, many diving watches (or sports watches) are no longer strictly diving (sports) watches. Their scope of application is not only professional underwater operations or water sports but also suitable for appearing in beach bars or attending banquets.
Mondo is not only an Olympic gold medalist but also a world record holder. Omega pays tribute to Mondo’s achievements with this watch. The blue and yellow color scheme makes the watch look quite fashionable and is inspired by Sweden’s iconic colors.
The white dial is decorated with a “teak” texture, with a calendar window at 6 o’clock, and the word “Seamaster” and four digital scales (15, 30, 45, 60) are embellished with yellow. But what I like most is the design of the second hand. The yellow lacquered central seconds hand is inspired by the pole, and the Super-LumiNova luminous coating on the tip of the second hand echoes the grip of the pole. Isn’t it very ingenious!
In addition, the hour hands, minute hands, and hour markers are also covered with white Super-LumiNova. Having said that, even if you are not a fan of Mondo and don’t pay much attention to high jumping, this watch is still a very good choice thanks to its superb appearance and performance.
