OMEGA is a long-term cooperative brand with Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ), the America’s Cup powerhouse. Recently, in order to promote Emirates Team New Zealand’s upcoming participation in the 37th America’s Cup, Omega has specially launched a Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black special edition. The appearance of the watch immediately reminds people of the signature image of the ETNZ fleet.
In addition to the red-on-white painting that represents Omega, the sailing hull of the Emirates New Zealand Team features a combination of black and turquoise, giving the hull a highly recognizable appearance. Therefore, the Seamaster Planet Ocean Deep Black special edition created by Omega is mainly based on these two colors, reflecting the watch’s origin and the ETNZ fleet.
The watch has a 45.5mm robust case made of black ceramic and is paired with a black and turquoise checkered rubber strap (the stitching on both sides is also turquoise). The one-way ceramic bezel is also made of black ceramic, with the diving-specific scale filled with white enamel. The inverted triangle mark at 12 o’clock features a Super-LumiNova luminous dot in the center to ensure that the watch remains functional in the dark or underwater.
