Let’s quickly go over the history of this watch!
Léon Breitling started the Swiss watch brand with his name back in 1884. The company first focused on making high-quality watches and timepieces with all sorts of features. The founder’s family was really into aviation and started making watches and tools for sports and flying. Some of their most popular models are: Chronomat, Cockpit, Avenger, Colt, Navitimer, Superocean, and Aerospace.
In the early 1960s, the Co-Pilot watch came out with a fresh and modern look, featuring a small white dial. Like its sibling, the Navitimer, it became super popular beyond just aviation fans.
This watch isn’t just for pilots anymore. It’s also caught the eye of famous athletes like race car driver Ken Miles and ski champ Jean-Claude Killy, as well as movie and TV stars like Raquel Welch.
In 1965, the Co-Pilot watch started using an anodized black bezel, and its model number was updated to 765 CP, where CP stands for Co-Pilot.
