There are two iterations of the new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 44 “Pride of Germany,” and this is the first time Audemars Piguet has released a “Pride of Germany” version in a 44mm case. The first is an 18K rose gold model with a black ceramic bezel (26416RO.OO.A002CA.01) and the second is an all-black ceramic case and bezel model (26415CE.OO.A002CA.01). Hands down, our favorite Series 44 iteration of the Royal Oak Offshore. The 18K rose gold model is limited to 30 pieces, and the black ceramic model is limited to 300 pieces, somewhat reminiscent of the discontinued rubber Royal Oak Offshore model.
The watch is released in a 44mm 18K rose gold case with a slate gray dial featuring a “Méga Tapisserie” pattern, black and gray counters, rose gold applied hour markers, and hands with a luminous coating. It has a silver-gray flange. Features a black rubber strap with an 18K rose gold pin buckle and a display case back.
The Audemars Piguet caliber 3126/3840, equipped with 59 jewels and 365 components, powers all other Royal Oak Offshore chronographs (including the 42mm model). This limited edition watch is engraved with the name on the back.
The movement is clearly visible, along with the number of pieces for each model. For this particular model, the oscillating weight that is usually finished in galvanic gray on all 44mm Offshore watches is this time in 22K gold, just like the caliber 3120.
